THE IWC 2016 PILOT’S Replica WATCH COLLECTION
Imagine, travelling back in time, to the golden age of the 1930’s for a luxurious night amongst flying pioneers, beautiful women, and carefully crafted timepieces. Well, that’s exactly what D’Marge did, last night at the launch of the IWC 2016 Pilot’s Watch Collection in Sydney.
A stellar guest-list of attendees including Mark Bouris, Miss Universe Australia 2015 Monika Radulovic, Jordan and Zac Stenmark and chef Neil Perry attended the event at the Richard Wherrett Studio in Walsh Bay.
The venue was transformed into an aviation-themed old age gentlemen’s club, with elements of steel, dark wood flooring and brown old-style leather alongside vintage memorabilia and framed photographs of pilots and old aircrafts.
The IWC Pilot’s Swiss Replica Watch, with its characteristic dial and technical highlights, has held a firm place in the Schaffhausen-based manufacturer’s collection for 80 years. At the collection launch, guests celebrated the early days of flying and IWC’s first ever Pilot’s Watch from 1936.
“Many of us have shared a fascination for aircraft and flying since our childhood years. IWC’s Pilot’s Replica Watches bring this passion to people’s wrists and we wanted to celebrate this fact with a cocktail event to mark this very special launch” said Christian Westermeyer Brand Manager of IWC Schaffhausen Australia/NZ.
The new collection features the statement-making Big Pilot’s Watch Le Petit Prince edition, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XVIII and the new slimline Pilot’s Watch Automatic 36 Replica which dons a case diameter of just 36mm and is the smallest model in the current IWC collection.
